Abstract
The El-Kantara plain is located in the north-west (NW) of Biskra town. It is the most precious natural resource, providing reliable water supplies for population of this area site and used for irrigation of some 22,000 palms. To assess growndwater quality in the plain of El Kantara, downstream part of El-Hai River Basin, piezometric surveys and chemical analyzes were carried for two campaigns (September 2011 and February 2012), where nine samples of groundwater collected. Therefore, the knowledge of the spatial distribution of the quality parameters of the water becomes very interesting to further investigate, manage and evaluate the quantity and quality of these resources. The objective of this work is the application of geographic information system (GIS) data and physicochemical analyzes of water wells in the area of ElKantara for the development of the spatial distribution maps quality parameters: conductivity, elements indicator of the agricultural pollution (PO43-, NO2, NO3 and NH4+), elements indicator of the anthropogenic pollution (BOD5 and COD) and trace metals (Lead, Iron, Copper, Zinc and Manganese) of El-Kantara groundwater.
