Approach to the Management of the Services of an Enterprise Information System Based on the Data Envelopment Analysis

Abstract
This article discusses the problems of increasing the efficiency of information management systems in large and medium-sized companies. The most progressive methods of management for such systems involve the service approach, within the framework of which the system‘s efficiency can be considered as the overall efficiency of different services provided by other units of the company. Using this approach, it is proposed to evaluate the efficiency of services with use of data envelopment analysis (DEA). The method involves estimating of the relative technical efficiency costs for organizing the information services in terms of proximity to planned indicators of the quality of the services. Despite some difficulties of the implementation, the offered method of efficiency evaluation will help to identify poorly performing services and the origins of such inefficiency.
