Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm to improve brain MR Image Segmentation

Abstract

Image segmentation is a primary step in image analysis used to separate the input image into meaningful regions. MRI is an advanced medical imaging technique widely used in detecting brain tumors. Segmentation of Brain MR image is a complex task. Among the many approaches developed for the segmentation of MR images, a popular method is fuzzy C-mean (FCM). In the proposed method, Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm is used to improve the efficiency of FCM on abnormal brain images.
