ARTISTIC INTERPRETATION OF THE LIFE OF OLEXIY, THE MAN OF GOD IN THE ELEGY BY THEOPHAN PROKOPOVICH

Abstract
The article deals with the interpretation of the life of Olexiy, the man of God in the «Elegy» written by F. Prokopovich, the accent was made on the selection of the key episodes with leading motives: a farewell with his family, escapement from home, yearning for his family and native land, the choice between the material and the spiritual, and troubles in connection with the soul of this hero. Escape of Olexiy, the man of God is interpreted as a refusal of the hero of wealth, luxury and means that he has a desire to devote his life to serving God.
