Abstract
After the end of the First World War, there was virtually nothing left of the Great Ottoman Empire. The Great Empire, located on three continents and holding its hand on the pulse of the countries of Europe, which built a just society and law in the occupied territories, gave the world great poets, thinkers, writers, scientists and other eminent personalities, fading day by day. The empire was a thing of the past. The First World War weakened the already dying Ottoman Empire. After the war, the country was ruled by Sultan Mahmud, who ruled only on paper. The real power was in the hands of the Entente commissar. The territories once occupied by the blood of the Turks gained independence. The cherished dream of European states about the return of Istanbul to Christians and the renaming of it to Constantinople could be realized. The Turkish people lost everything and most importantly independence and freedom. The Turks needed hope, rebirth, a ray of light in this pitch darkness. This ray of light was Mustafa Kemal.
