Patients were subjected to complete hemogram, sickling test, immunological evaluation etc. Risk factors for thrombotic events were recorded. Results: Out of 38 patients, 16 were of VTE and 22 were of ATE. The most common VTE was due to central venous catheter seen in 6 cases. Most common ATE was due to thrombophilia’s seen in 5 cases. Other reasons in VTE were immobilization seen in 2, trauma in 1, infections in 2, dehydration in 2. Other reasons in ATE were immobilization seen in 2, trauma in 4, infections in 3, dehydration in 3 and unknown in 4 cases. The difference was significant (P< 0.05).
