ATTITUDES TO PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AND SPORTS

Abstract

The objective of the present study is to analyze if positive or favorable attitudes are associated to a predisposition for the practice of the physical activity and sport, and if the lack of sport/ exercise implicates negative attitudes. A sample of 193 individuals was constituted, of which 92 are male and 101 are female, with ages understood between the 25 and the 50 years. We collected the data through a questionnaire with base in the Scale of Attitudes towards physical Activity and Sport (Dosil, 2002) and through two items for the measurement of physical exercise. Our study indicated that the attitudes: importance noticed that the subject does in the activity and sport (perceived importance) and the possibility of practice physical activity and sport (Possibility of practicing Activity) they are positively correlated with the practice of the physical exercise.
