AUTOBIOGRAPHIC IDENTITIES IN THE NOVELS OF BURHAN GÜNEL

Abstract

Even if he has created literary works in different types, Burhan Günel is widely known as a novelist. He has sixteen novels and it is seen that he mainly prefers those characters who remind him his own biography in his novels. In this paper, after having been mentioned his works, autobiography and autobiogprahic novels have been elucidated. And the characters as autobiogprahic identitites occuring in Günel’s novels and their functions in novels are examined. It is purposed to indicate that those characters share sections from Günel’s life. In the conclusion, it is set forth that the novelist, while making fiction, narrates sections of his life by using novel characters, thus it is concluded that he uses autobiographic method in his literary works.
