AZERBAIJAN THEATRE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE XX CENTURY

Abstract
This article is dedicated to theatrical life of Baku in the XX century. The question is about tours of Italian opera and Jewish theatre in Baku. The article is written on the basis of Russian speaking press extracted from archives. Theatrical criticism ascertains the high professional level of opera singers from Italy, musical beauty of operas by Giuzeppe Verdi “Aida”, “Rigoletto” and his many other operas. On the occasion of Jewish theatre the press noted its high ethic level. Overall, there is accentuated the “sold out” notice and the interest of Azerbaijan audience in this tour.
