Bancassurance as a Way to Generate Synergy Effects on the Banking and Insurance Market
Journal Title: Zeszyty Naukowe Wyższej Szkoły Bankowej w Poznaniu - Year 2019, Vol 84, Issue 1
Abstract
The aim of the article is to present the idea, the legal basis, models of functioning and reasons for the development of the bancassurance market in Poland. This goal is achieved by analysing the existing literature, Internet resources and relevant regulations. Although the concept of bancassurance is well-known in the literature and is widespread in business practice in many countries, in Poland the option of insurance products via banking channels has been gaining popularity only recently, despite the growing number of scientific articles on the subject. Therefore, a theoretical analysis of the bancassurance market from the economic and legal perspective can provide a broader view of this promising segment of the banking and insurance market.
