Basic benchmarks for ensuring the competitiveness of hotel business enterprises

Abstract
The article describes the classification of accommodation facilities, which provides for their rearrangement according to the criterion of priority of the services that they provide. The essence of the hotel business is determined. The main features of hotel services are highlighted. The basic problems of modern hotel business are outlined. It is determined that hotel networks are the most promising innovative direction of development of hotel business and the essence of the concept of «hotel chain» is disclosed. Three approaches to the definition of the category «enterprise competitiveness» are considered, in particular comparative, resource and systemic. The definition of the concept of «competitiveness of the hotel business enterprise» is also given. Two main types of competitive advantages are grounded: low costs and specialization.
