BASIN-LANDSCAPE PRINCIPLE IN ASSESSING THE DEGREE OF RADIOECOLOGICAL CRITICALITY OF THE TERRITORY OF UKRAINE
Journal Title: Український географічний журнал - Year 2018, Vol 4, Issue
Abstract
A basin-landscape principle of studying and analyzing the natural-geographical features of radioactively contaminated territories is proposed to identify critical regions that influence the formation of the population exposure dose before an accident at nuclear or radiation facilities in Ukraine. This will make it possible to preliminary obtain a spatio-temporal picture of the radiation situation formation taking into account local conditions, identify the most critical areas and effectively manage the rehabilitation of contaminated areas using modern GIS technologies. Assessment of the criticality of the allocated basin is carried out at three spatial levels (national, regional and local) using the integrated criterion of criticality.
