BENCHMARKING AS A TOOL TO INCREASE EFFICIENCY AND COMPETITIVENESS OF THE ORGANISATIONS

Abstract
The benchmarking is one of the best management tools to determine whether the organization effectively performs specific functions and activities. Through it, the managers are able to determine which the best practices are, to prioritize opportunities for improvement and to increase labor productivity. This is the reason why the benchmarking can be used in many companies as a tool to increase efficiency and gain a competitive advantage. The purpose of this article is to characterize the importance of the benchmarking as a tool for amplifying the efficiency and competitiveness of the modern organizations
