Bilateral Chorioretinal Folds in Association with Chronic Polypoidal Choroidal Vasculopathy
Journal Title: Journal of Ocular Biology - Year 2013, Vol 1, Issue 2
Abstract
horioretinal folds have been associated with a myriad of conditions including axial hyperopia, hypotony, uveal effusion, idiopathic intracranial hypertension, orbital tumors, central serous chorioretinopathy, and posterior scleritis [1-3]. As mechanical factors and volume constraint are responsible for the anatomic distortions seen in very short eyes, the condition in general represents an anatomic perturbation of the choroid. Since it is a highly vascular structure, one might expect to find associated abnormalities and characteristics of the impacted blood vessels of the choriocapillaris. Polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV) is by far the most common form of exudative macular degeneration in blacks and Asians [4]. We describe a case of bilateral idiopathic chorioretinal folds in a Caribbean-female with associated PCV.

The Trabecular Meshwork: A Basic Review of Form and Function
Glaucoma is a group of optic neuropathies in which damage to the optic nerve results in a distinctive pattern of irreversible vision loss. Elevations in the intraocular pressure (IOP) are a common contributor to this dam...
Upregulation of GADD45α, TP53 and CASP3 mRNA Expression in the Rat Lens after In vivo Exposure to Sub-threshold Dose of UVR B
Purpose: The objective of the present study was to investigate the evolution of mRNA expression of the stress sensor GADD45α, the apoptosis initiator TP53 and the apoptosis executor CASP3 in the rat lens after in vivo ex...

Study background: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the overall incidence of infectious and non infectious endophthalmitis associated with intravitreal ranibizumab (IVR) injections. Methods: This is a retrospecti...
Ophthalmoplegic “Migraine” as a Presenting Symptom of Dermoid Cyst of the Cavernous Sinus: A Case Report and Review of the Literature
Dermoid cysts are rarely seen at the cavernous sinus and may present with symptoms such as isolated cranial nerve palsies and headache. Ophthalmoplegic migraine has not been described as a presenting symptom. We present...
