BIOMECHANICAL ANALYSIS OF SPİNAL İNSTRUMENTATİON FOR LUMBAR BURST FRACTURES
Journal Title: Journal of Turkish Spinal Surgery - Year 1994, Vol 5, Issue 4
Abstract
The goal of this siudy ıvas to assess of axial stiffness of several Alıcı Instrumentation procedures. Compres-sive axial stiffness were measured in eight calf lumbar spines at the Middle East Technicaİ University. A corpecto-my ıvas performed to simulate a burst İnjury, One calf spine was tested intact The tested construct pattem were: corpectomy model v/ithout instrumentation (ICM); upper and lower hookpattem (HPI); upper claw and lower hook pattem (CPI); upper claw with lowerpedlcle screws (CTPI); short segment pedicie instrumentation (SPI). İn addi-tion to tests performed for CTPI and anterlor instrumentation with anterior strut grafts (CTPIG, AIG) ıvere em-ployed. These anaiysis showed that the stlffest construct was the posterior instrumentation with anterior strut (CTPIG). İn addition to these findings cfawpattern andpedicle screws were found to be the best bone-metal con-nectlons.

THE VALUE OF MRI İN SPINAL PATHOLOGIES : BASIC PRINCIPLES AND RECENT ADVANCES
The multiplanar capability of MRI has markedly benefited the sludy of the spine. Trweighted images yield morphological images of the cord and roots contrasting against the low-intensity CSF (4) (Fig. 1). Tz-weighted imag...
LATE OPERATIVE STABILIZATION OF THE LUMBAR FRACTURE-DISLOCATION (A case report)
A rarely seen, late and neglected fracture-dislocation of the lumbar vertebrae which was stabilized operatively is discussed and reported.
THE EFFECTS OF DEFEROXAMlNE ON LIPİD PEROXIDATION IN AN EXPERIMENTAL SPİNAL CORD İNJURY
Some patients with an acute spinal cord injury (SCI) can immediately become paraplegic following the trauma. On the other hand, some patients vvith an incomplete trauma can be deteriorated by time as a result of the vvor...
IDIOPATHIC SPINAL CORD HERNIATION
Idiopathic spinal cord herniation is a rare diagnosis. The differentiation of spinal cord herniation from arachnoid cyst is important. MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) is helpful for the diagnosis. We report a patient wi...
