Abstract

Such as an economic, technological and social change, rapidly changing consumer needs and expectations, the product passes its own fashion as a stream of consumer society elements are impelling businesses to hard competition. Therefore businesses, should be able to attract the attention of consumers with different, new, original services and products. both in terms of a continuous improvement in market share and the continuation of assets. In this context inovative business is radically to produce new products and service or add additional value to the existing one. In intensive competitive conditions, businesses must see the innovation as a way of life. The ability and behavior of employees must be directed correctly for the success of an innovative business. While an idea becomes a commercial element, the labor of the individual is necessary for individual innovativeness. The realization of innovation also affects individual's business performance. Individual performance is the employee's contribution for business goals. Individual innovation is defined in the literature as willingness to try new things. Therefore in innovative businesses, employees consist of individuals who can produce new ideas as ideas, learning, continuously self-improving that there can be positive changes in the performance of individuals who adopt innovation. At this point the aim of this research is to examine the effect of individual innovation behavior on individual job performance. The research sample comprises 101 employees of a technology giant operating in Istanbul. The reason for choosing the sample from the technology sector is that emphasis on more R & D and innovation. Therefore these types of businesses when recruiting personnel, require individual attitudes and behaviors that will contribute to innovation. The results of the research shows that the "idea of leadership and risk taking" dimension of individual innovation are positively and has a significant effect; while the "change resistance" dimension has a negative effect on business performance.
