Bit Error Rate Performance Analyses of DS-CDMA Systems for Different Spreading Codes in Weibull Fading Channels
Journal Title: Gazi Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Dergisi Part C: Tasarım ve Teknoloji - Year 2016, Vol 4, Issue 2
Abstract
Wireless communication systems are one of the most dynamic areas of contemporary research and development areas. In recent years, one of the most popular wireless technologies is direct-sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) systems. In this study, the bit error rate (BER) performances of the DS-CDMA systems are investigated over Weibull fading channel model that is proposed as an appropriate fading model to describe multipath fading channels for both indoor and outdoor environments. The BER performances of communication systems are obtained for both by employing two different spreading codes such as Gold and Walsh-Hadamard codes, and by varying the value of fading parameters of the Weibull channel model. Performed simulation results for different user numbers are confirmed that Walsh-Hadamard spreading codes outperform than the Gold codes in the event of increasing user numbers.
