Blood Fibrinolytic Activity in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Associated with Hypothyroidism
Journal Title: Міжнародний ендокринологічний журнал - Year 2015, Vol 3, Issue 67
Abstract
The objective of the research was to study the level of plasminogen activator inhibitor type 1 (PAI-1) in the blood serum of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) in combination with hypothyroidism. We have observed 62 patients with type 2 DM, 32 of them had primary hypothyroidism. Control group consisted of 20 persons without carbohydrate metabolism disorders and thyroid pathology. In patients with type 2 DM, we have detected violations in the fibrinolytic system as an increase of PAI-1, whose level depends on the body mass index, waist circumference, level of glycated haemoglobin, indexes of insulin resistance, blood lipid spectrum, as well as on the presence of microalbuminuria. The presence of hypothyroidism has an additional negative impact on the parameters of carbohydrate, lipid metabolism and PAI-1 level in patients with type 2 DM.

Prevalence of Growth Hormone Deficiency in Adults with Pituitary Adenomas
In this article, the authors analyzed the data of patients with pituitary tumors, of which 35 (87.5 %) suffered from growth hormone deficiency (GHD) in adults with neuroendocrine complications. Specific to GHD is a group...
Comparative characteristics of proteolytic activity in case of experimental peritonitis and its development on the background of diabetes mellitus
Background. The relevance is due to rather understudied state of proteolytic reactions in case of diabetes mellitus (DM) with acute peritonitis (AP), which is increasingly common in the practice. Objective: to study the...
Bile lithogenicity dependence on carbohydrate and lipid metabolism indices in patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 and chronic acalculous cholecystitis
Background. The purpose of the study is to identify the features of changes in bile homeostasis and major stone-forming substrates in chronic acalculous cholecystitis and type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM). Materials and meth...
Evaluating treatment effectiveness in small for gestational age children by optimizing growth hormone dose
Background. According to world statistics, about 5–10 % of newborns are small for gestational age (SGA). They can have inadequate rates of postnatal growth during first two years of life. This growth deficiency is observ...
Comparative analysis of the activity of cells of innate immunity in patients with benign and malignant thyroid diseases after radioiodine therapy
Background. The effects of radioiodine therapy (RIT) on the cytotoxic activity of NK cells and the metabolic activity of neutrophils (NPs) were studied in patients with toxic goiter (TG) and differentiated thyroid carcin...
