Abstract
Exposure assessment studies in the developing world are important .The present research on estimating the magnitude of the health impact associated with air pollution conditions on road side venders in Hyderabad city –India have been carried out at Ameerpet station. The ambient air quality was measured in this traffic station and the monthly means were recorded. A 24 h cycle of hourly sampling was also carried out to assess the peak hour traffic concentrations of the ambient air quality parameters. The concentrations of Total Suspended Particulate Matter (TSPM), Respirable Suspended Particulate Matter (RSPM), Sulphur Dioxide (SO2), Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx) and Carbon Monoxide (CO) were monitored and compared with the national standards. The behavior of the quality parameters of this station was described. It has been well established that the time of exposure and dose of the pollutants were positively correlated. The study included vendors who have been staying in the place for not less than three years. The mean concentration of the TSPM recorded for the whole study period was 369.84 µg/m3. Ameerpet the concentrations of RSPM showed wide variation with a minimum of 120.00 µg/m3 and a maximum of 470.00 µg/m3. However, the hourly mean of twenty four hour cycle was 235.00 µg/m3, which was also well above the national standard. The mean concentration of sulphur dioxide for the whole study period was 5.89 µg/m3. Ameerpet (46.90 µg/m3) was almost half of the specified national standard. The mean concentration of Carbon Monoxide (CO) concentrations at Ameerpet for the whole study period was 3.23 mg/m3 were recorded. The decreases in the Forced Vital Capacity (FVC) values over a period indicate the reduced capacity of lungs that is interpreted as a sign of susceptibility to the future infections.

Degradation of Paraquat in the Aquatic Environment: A proposed Enzymatic Kinetic Model that takes into account adsorption/desorption of the Herbicide by Colloidal and Sediment Particles
The kinetics of the degradation of paraquat in an aquatic microcosm environment charged with the herbicide were studied over a period of 70 days. Distilled water charged with the herbicide and boric acid preservative was...
