Esta apresenta uma síntese das suas ideias acerca da acumulação e fluxo de capital; além de formulações críticas e progressivas de ideias acerca da forma pela qual a sociedade cria e sustenta suas "crenças" através de um modo social de produção. O texto que segue procura apresentar os principais argumentos do geógrafo inglês e indicar uma interpretação segura sobre a obra vigente.
