Breath Tests Application in Order to Improve the Outcomes of Treatment for Celiac Disease

Abstract
The article presents data from an own study on modern opportunities to improve the effectiveness of treatment of patients with celiac disease (n = 41). All patients were on a gluten-free diet, nonetheless effectiveness of treatment was regarded as unsatisfactory. Due to the use of modern carbon and hydrogen breath tests and diagnosis of bacterial overgrowth syndrome, lactase deficiency and exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, which were the causes for the persistence of clinical symptoms, we obtained reasons for their correction and achieved a complete remission of the underlying disease.
