BRIDGE DAMAGE RISK ASSESSMENT

Abstract
The paper presents an approach for assessing the damage risk of transport infrastructure in the context of terrorist attacks, as presented on the example of several bridges located in Wroclaw. Assuming that only one bridge will be destroyed in a given area, two methods of multicriteria optimization, i.e. the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the Bellinger method, have been selected. Both of them have been used to determine the damage risk to those facilities. The advantage of the selected analyses lies in that the assumed hierarchy of decision-making variants can be explained in a scientific manner rather than through relying on the knowledge, experience and intuition of an expert only.
