Journal Title: World Journal of Medical Images, Videos and Cases - Year 2018, Vol 4, Issue
Abstract
The case described here may be the first report of experimental use of probiotic bacteria in the topical therapy of a burn wound in a 3 year-old child. The boy suffered a boiling water burn to the forearm and in 2013 underwent treatment with Lactobacillus plantarum strains. Follow-up photographs were made 2 and 4 years later. The effect on the wound and the scar is more than satisfactory.
