Calcified scrotal pyocele clinically mimicking as carcinoma testis

Journal Title: Perspectives In Medical Research - Year 2015, Vol 3, Issue 3

Abstract

Hydroceles are benign cysts of the scrotum. They are very common in patients above 50 years and more often they do not need any treatment. Hydroceles are non-cancerous swellings. They are most often confused with spermatoceles and other benign cystic diseases of the scrotum. Scrotal pyoceles are purulent collections within the potential space between visceral and parietal tunica vaginalis surrounding the testicle (1). Scrotal pyocele is a rarely described urologic emergency that must be recognized and treated quickly to prevent testicular damage or Fournier's gangrene.
