Calculation of flat bottom tanks, as shells of rotating rigidity rotation

Abstract

This article includes actions for definition internal forces and moments of thin-walled circular silo for the storage of particulate solids. Wall sheeting of tower silo loaded symmetrical loads. It is assumed, that normal stress are only in vertical stiffeners. Vertical walled segment of tower silo is an element of loads transfer and distribution loads. It is given base expressions for the calculation longitudinal forces in ribs. Various geometry parameters were used for silo - height of vertical-walled segment, diameter and others. A simplified equation for value of horizontal pressure is also given. In determining longitudinal forces in ribs and horizontal pressure, the functions and may be useful. Numerical results functions are presented for different ratios of levels z (from the level depth below the highest solid-wall contact) and height of silo. For bending moments in stiffeners simplification method may be used. It is based on use reference eccentricity that determines of position cross-section centroid of vertical ribs silo. Increase stiffness of vertical ribs reduces notional eccentricity and bending moments. And vice versa, increase silo wall thickness leads to a higher value bending moments.
