Abstract
The paper begins with examining in detail the history of capital punishments tracing back to the middle ages. The author has described in detail the grotesque and barbaric nature of the horrifying methods inflicted upon the prisoners in the same era. Then the author has explained in detail the international scenario of executions. The article dwells into the international law on capital punishment. Under Article 6 of ICCPR the limitations pertaining to death penalty is being discussed. The author then vocalises his opinion upon the subject which is followed by a suitable conclusion. by V.
