CARBON DIOXIDE AS INHIBITOR FOR IGNITION AND FLAME PROPAGATION OF PROPANE-AIR MIXTURES
Journal Title: Analele Universitatii din Bucuresti. Chimie - Year 2002, Vol 11, Issue 2
Abstract
The effect of CO2 addition on stoichiometric propane-air mixtures, at ambient pressure and temperature, was analysed for both ignition and flame propagation. The quenching distance significantly increases and the normal burning velocity significantly decreases with the increase of CO2 content. The ignition and the propagation are differentiated by their activation energies, evaluated from the flame temperature dependence of the quenching distance and the normal burning velocity, respectively.

DEGRADATION OF 2,4,6-TRINITRORESORCINE (TNR) BYPERSULFATE OXIDATION ACTIVATED WITH ZERO-VALENT IRON (ZVI)
2,4,6-Trinitroresorcine (TNR) with molecular formula C6H3N3O8 is one of the aromatic nitro compounds ranging slight to strong oxidizing agents causing environmental contamination. The persulfate anions activated by ZVI w...
ETHYLENE DIMERIZATION ON NICKEL 4,4’-BIPYRIDINE COMPLEX SUPPORTED ON FAUJASITE TYPE ZEOLITES
This paper presents the activity and selectivity of a catalyst based on Ni(4,4’-bipyridine)Cl2 complex co-activated with AlCl(C2H5)2 and supported on faujasite-type zeolite Y utilised in the dimerization of ethylene at 2...
USING SOME PHYSICAL CHEMICAL METHODS IN THE CONTROL OF THE ACID WATERS FROM STORAGE BATTERIES MANUFACTURES
In this work residual acid waters samples from two storage batteries manufactures were studied. The samples from Acumulatorul SA prelevated in two periods were studied by pH metric method, conductimetry and densitometry....
INDIRECT SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF NEOMYCIN BASED ON THE REACTION WITH CERIUM (IV) SULFATE
A simple and sensitive spectrophotometric method has been described for the assay of neomycin either in pure form or in pharmaceutical formulations. The proposed method was based on the oxidation of the studied drug by a...
A DSC STUDY OF ΑLPHA AMINOBUTYRIC ACID GAMMA IRRADIATED
The behaviour on heating of irradiated with gamma rays and non-irradiated DL-α aminobutyric acid (DL-α AMB) was investigated comparatively, by means of differential scanning calorimetry. (DL-α AMB) decomposes before melt...
