Catamnesis of Patients with Pubertal Uterine Bleedings in Terms of Use of Non-Hormonal and Hormonal Therapy
Journal Title: Здоров`я дитини - Year 2014, Vol 2, Issue 53
Abstract
Objective: evaluation of hormonal and non-hormonal therapy effects in patients with pubertal uterine bleedings. Patients and Methods. The study involved 196 adolescent girls, aged 11–18 years, treated for pubertal uterine bleedings in the in-patient department of pediatric gynecology, the State Institution «Institute of Children and Adolescents Health Care of National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine». The patients were divided into 2 groups depending on the clinical course of the disease: I group — 131 girls with the first episode of uterine bleeding and II group — 65 girls with a recurrent course of the disease. Homeostasis was attained in all the patients: in 72 % — when using non-hormonal medicines, and in 28 % — after administration of hormonal drugs. Follow-up observations — from 6 months to 3–5 years. Results. Dynamic observations (from 1 to 3–5 years) have established that in patients with hemostasis, attained by using a broad spectrum of non-hormonal remedies, restoration of the menstrual cycle rhythm and duration of menstrual cycle takes place more often than after a hormonally induced homeostasis. Conclusions. Thus, the data obtained affirm that the choice of a non-hormonal homeostasis is more physiologic for adolescent girls with pubertal uterine bleeding.
