CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS IN DEVELOPING SPEAKING SKILLS IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE LEARNING
Journal Title: International scientific journal Science and Innovation - Year 2025, Vol 4, Issue 3
Abstract
Speaking is one of the most complex and essential skills in foreign language acquisition. Despite extensive exposure to a language, many learners struggle with fluency, confidence, and linguistic accuracy. This paper examines the primary challenges that hinder the development of speaking skills, including psychological barriers, limited vocabulary, difficulties in structuring sentences, and unequal participation in the learning process. Furthermore, it explores evidence-based strategies to enhance oral proficiency, such as creating a supportive learning environment, utilizing communicative language teaching (CLT), and incorporating interactive methods. The findings highlight the need for a holistic approach that addresses both cognitive and affective factors to improve speaking proficiency effectively
