CHAOTIC CLIPS AS MANIPULATIVE TECHNOLOGY OF SOCIAL-PSYCHOLOGICAL INFLUENCE IN CYBERSPACE

Journal Title: Psychological journal - Year 2018, Vol 4, Issue 3

Abstract

The article is devoted to the theoretical analysis of the phenomenon of clip thinking and clip fragmentation of the information flow in the Internet space as a precondition of the socio-psychological influence on the person and society. Such concepts as clip culture, clip thinking, chaotic clips, etc. are disclosed. The threat of using of technological instruments of purposeful social and psychological influence with the help of “clip culture”, which can transform informational and communicational space into the technology of factitious looping of consciousness of personality and masses at the level of clip thinking is justified. It points to that tendencies in the growth of the clip culture in society increasingly determine the perspectives for further exploration in the searches and constructive development of the theoretically applied approaches to determine the influence of “clips” on the processes of livelihood of the person and society as a whole. It is stated that, in spite of the accentuation by many scientists on the mainly negative aspect of clip thinking, it is an integral attribute of the livelihood of our society. Therefore, we must realize that we have entered the era of network-virtual thinking, and the globalization process of integration and transformation of the conceptual varieties of the mental sphere of personality into the newest forms is happening. The symbolic relationship between clip and conceptual thinking is substantiated, indicating that clip thinking is to a large extent a fundamental element in the formation of a conceptual one. It is noted that the procedure for creating of artificial “clips” in the information-communicative space is based not only on variations of the mosaic picture of the world, but also on the deformation and distortion of the properties of the symbol, using manipulative technologies of purposeful informational and psychological influence. Manipulation technologies of purposeful informational and psychological influence in cyberspace are aimed at “imbalance” of the optimal interrelation between clip and conceptual levels of thinking. In the process of such “imbalance”, a person is not able to operate a sufficiently with large amount of information for a certain period of time, simultaneously removing unnecessary data, and to find and analyze the information that is most important and possible to integrate into a certain holistic subjective image of objective reality. This is explained by the fact that the processes of creating of the information and communication flows, using manipulative technologies to create artificially-manipulative chaotic clips are aimed not at rational comprehension of the whole flow of information, but on suggestion of the “necessary” persistent meanings by staging audio-visual effects. It is concluded that in connection with the use of chaotic clips presentation of information as a technology of manipulation of social and individual consciousness, the problem of non-ecological social projects of creation of the information and communication flows aimed at perceiving information without its adequate comprehension which violate the informational security of a person, is arises.
