Characterization and activation of coconut shell activated carbon Research Paper
Journal Title: International Journal of Engineering and Science Invention - Year 2017, Vol 6, Issue 11
Abstract
In present research paper coconut shell carbon was activated by coconut shell carbon was converted into activated carbon by chemical activation using different activating agents like Cacl2, H2So4, H3Po4, KoH, and Zncl2 and thermally activated. Batch adsorption desulphurization operation was carried out at room temperature for adsorption for selection of final activation agent for continuous process.Characteristics of coconut shell activated carbon was studied such as P.H, Moisture Content, Ash content ,Volatile matter content, Ash content , Volatile matter content, Fixed carbon, Iodine Number , BET surfacearea, ScanningElectronic Microscope (SEM).

Association of Solar Energetic Particle (SEP) Events with Sunspot Numbers
The study and understanding of Solar Energetic Particle (SEP) Events is very important for space scientists in order to understand the risks and hazards as well as to predict and take preventive actions. It is strongly b...
Randic index of various classes of graphs formed on the basis of some graph combinations
The Randic index R(G) of a graph G=(V,E) is defined as follows Here du and dv are the degrees of vertices u and v respectively. In this paper, we give explicit computing formulae for various classes of graphs formed on t...
Influence of Fe2O3 on structural, physical and optical properties of Lithium Sodium Bismuth Borate glasses
In this paper, the Ferric oxide doped Lithium Sodium Bismuth Borate glass samples of composition xFe2O3-25Li2O-5Na2O-15Bi2O3-(55-x)B2O3 (where x = 0,2,4,6) have been prepared by melt quenching technique. Powder X-ray dif...
Stream Flow Behaviour Studies using Neural Networks
Flow characteristics of streams are complicated and are influenced by different hydraulic parameters. Although numerical analysis has its own importance, soft computing techniques are becoming popular with availability o...
Integrated Geophysical and Geotechnical Evaluation of Foundation Failure in Parts of Ikere-Ekiti, South Western Nigeria
Geophysical and geotechnical methods have been integrated with the aim of assessing characteristics of sub-surface layers to identify why structures in some parts of Ikere-Ekiti Southwestern Nigeria are failing or sinkin...
