Child and Question of Mortality: V. Sukhomlynsky's Approach

Abstract

The article deals with the question of reflections concerning human mortality as a specific branch of scientific knowledge and, above all pedagogical. It touches upon the issue of the degree of its wilderness in the national humanities (Philosophy, Psychology) and Western scientific thought thanatology. Much attention is given to the peculiarities of child's perception the notion mortality. According to the article the question of the role and importance of Pedagogy and in particular the child's perception of this particular problem raises. The author points out the lack of pedagogic context, which is subject matter and relevant tools for representation the topic of human mortality in learning and educational space. Vasyl Sykhomlynsky's ideas concerning learning children about the questions of human mortality as philosophical-ethical facts are analyzed and reported. The article gives a detailed analyses of academic tools which were worked upon and applied by Vasyl Sykhomlynsky. It includes ethical, moral instructions and methodic suggestions and illustrative material. In conclusion the author writes about the elaboration of human mortality questions in the pedagogical heritage of V. Sykhomlynsky aimed to attention being devoted to adult's care and child's perception of the topic mortality.
