Children’s Bibles as a Religious Educational Material

Abstract

All religions are based on divine doctrines from sacred texts. The basic laws of human beings belong to religion, adoptedand implemented in accordance with the terms and judgments, only if it is possible to understand these texts correctly. In addition, people who became believers, have to engage with revelation in order to learn religious doc-trines. Sacred texts of every religion differ from others in terms of structure and con-tent. The common points of these texts are that they stick to a certain literary style and that their target group is not of limited age. Nowadays, in both Western and Is-lamic world, with the increase of moral decline and social corruption, people began the return to religion. With the increasing importance of religious education, the ac-cess to and understanding of sacred texts have been in the focus of debates. Within this framework, material is addressed to children at an early age to make the source of religion and religious teachings provide a clearer understanding of the purpose and divine expressions, aimed to make the revelation of children according to the level of perception. In this study, the Christian religion in this direction by educators ‘Chil-dren’s Bibles’ publications prepared under the theme, content, style, illustrations, games, and activities were evaluated.. A survey of the verses of the Bibleas been con-cluded reviewing what is given for the child according to the level of perception.
