Class Teachers' Views About Moral Education

Abstract

The ability to distinguish between people's thoughts and deeds as good or bad shows their moral development throughout their lives. Moral development can also be called the effort to find the best and the right, which continues as long as life continues. One of the most important stages of this process is the school period. In this study, it was tried to determine the opinions of classroom teachers about moral education. It is important to investigate classroom teachers' perspectives on moral education in school. This study was modeled according to the scanning method and the relational method among the quantitative research methods. Participants of the study consist of a total of 46 teachers, among whom are 27 women and 19 men, working in the town of Boyabat in Sinop province. The data collection tool in the study is a questionnaire form created by examining the literature. According to the results of the study, it was revealed that the participants had told the students the importance of being moral and what moral human behaviors had been when they were involved in the lessons. They stated that they made use of exemplary personalities and examples of anecdotes and stories during this narration. Providing moral education; They stated that it ensured peace and order in the society and that value judgments were learned better, and the lives and that it enables properties of the public to be safer. However, the most important moral value teachers see is honesty. It has been observed that the most effective factor in moral maturation is family, and the best grade is preschool and primary school levels.
