CLASSIFICATION OF LARGE IMAGES BEFORE APPLYING COMPRESSION ALGORITHMS

Abstract
The article proposes a model for managing large-scale digital image groups by using remote operations and storing. This model provides image management using web services which divide images into different classes, and for each class the best image compression algorithm is applied. The article also provides an overview of the possible solutions for the implementation of the individual model parts and describes an experimental investigation which shows that the classification of large images before applying compression algorithms can be useful.
