Clean and Healthy Behavior of Santri In Pondok Pesantren Mambau’us Syafa’atil Quran

Abstract
The clean and healthy life behavior is an effort to create a condition for individuals, families, groups, and communities as an attempt to apply a healthy way of life in order to preserve, maintain and improve health. The purpose of this study was to determine the clean and healthy living behavior in the boarding school students. Methods: The study design used descriptive design. The study population was all students in Pondok Pesantren Mamba’us Syafa’atil Qur’an; 80 students. The sample was 80 using the total population technique, as well as uses the instrument in the form of a questionnaire designed by the researcher. The results showed a clean and healthy life behavior of students by 31.25% in either category, 42.5% adequate, and 26.25% less. Clean and healthy living behaviors (PHBs) students were already in good category since they always wash hands before eating and after defeca- tion and no students who have used drugs, while PHBs students who in category of lack that were measured to avoid the transmission of diseases. It was expected for boarding school caretaker made routine health and hygiene control for the students to reduce the risk of transmission of the disease.
