CLINICAL CHARACTERISTICS OFTRAUMATIC SPİNAL CORD INJURY PATIENTS AND RESULTS OF REHABILITATION

Abstract
27 patients with traumatic spinal cord injury (17 male, 9 female, 1 child) were admitted to our inpatient rehabilitation department. 7 patients Were tetraplegic and the others were paraplegic. Mean hospitalisation period was 115.04±104.15 days. The most frequent cause of spinal cord injury was motor vehicle accidents. On the other hand, the most frequent complication was urinary tract infections. At the end of rehabilitation program, 16 patients (59%) were mobilized. 30% of our patients applied a regime of intermittent catheterization, 26% of our patients had normal voluntary voiding ability.
