Cluster-Based Call Acceptance Principle for Optimum Reduction of Call Failures in a GSM Network System
Journal Title: Mathematical and Software Engineering - Year 2016, Vol 2, Issue 2
Abstract
Generally, most network providers especially in the developing countries are witnessing rapid influx of new users in their networks which affect the level of their quality of service (QoS). This research work is borne out of the fact that the wireless communication operators make use of few network resources such as base station controllers (BSCs) and base transceiver station (BTSs). This scheme is aimed at better utilization of different BTSs and their channels at any time. This research considers the signal quality, available channels, new call duration, handoff call duration and handoff call rate within the Base transceiver station (BTS). Rather than block or drop a call whenever the channels of any BTS are filled, this scheme ensures that the current BTS will handoff about ten percent (10%) of its accommodated calls to other free nearby BTSs with respect to the position of the mobile station (MS).

Determination of Single Knife Edge Equivalent Parameters for Double Knife Edge Diffraction Loss by Deygout Method
In this paper, the computation of dual knife edge diffraction loss by Deygout multiple knife edge diffraction loss method is presented for a 6 GHz C-band microwave link. Also, the computation of equivalent single kni...
Comparative Analysis of the Solar Potential of Offshore and Onshore Photovoltaic Power System
In this paper, comparative analyses of performance parameters of onshore and offshore PV system are conducted and the result showed that the offshore PV system has better performance in terms of higher energy yield and p...
A note on reducing the computation time for minimum distance and equivalence check of binary linear codes
In this paper we show the usability of the Gray code with constant weight words for computing linear combinations of codewords. This can lead to a big improvement of the computation time for finding the minimum distance...
Evaluation of the Distribution of Terrain Roughness Index for Terrestrial Line of Site Microwave Links in Uyo Metropolis
In this paper, the distribution of terrain roughness index in Uyo metropolis is presented. The path (elevation) profiles of various regions or areas in Uyo are captured and then used to compute the terrain roughness inde...
Analysis of Environmental and Economic Prospects of Stand-By Solar Powered Systems in Nigeria
Photovoltaic power systems can be used as electrical power source for home to meet its daily energy requirement through direct conversion of solar irradiance into electricity. This paper presents environmental and econom...
