Journal Title: BEST : International Journal of Humanities , Arts, Medicine and Sciences ( BEST : IJHAMS ) - Year 2018, Vol 6, Issue 7
Abstract
Diversity is terminology having multi-dimension in terms of sociological aspect standing for difference in certain phases, a general truth of this universe in this globalized world, Diversity is inseparable from communities, states or even neighborhood. Though the term may seem like separation and division I tended to prove that this universal factor is a positive channel in enhancing the efficiency of this Homeland, whereas some conditions are to be fulfilled along with this Diversity stating the Islamic perspective. Studies show that the lack of cohesion and co-existence between races, sexes, and cultures is due to mistrust, stereotyping, move within culture conversation, language problem, discrimination and denial of rights. When these problems are not paid attention may lead to an inability to endorse ideas, inability to gain agreement on the decision and no united action. Diversity finds constant motion uselessly then. The researchers tried to draw how the policy of nation building in a post-colonial era of Sri Lanka was unsupportive of building peaceful coexistence through Diversity; a national asset was prevalent undoubtedly. Finally, the researchers mentioned the three means of attaining this co-existence to be followed up by our government in the future steps of this Homeland while pointing out the responsibility of Muslims of this country in the peace building process of our Motherland.
