Coevolution of Industrial Revolutions and Economic and Management Sciences

Journal Title: Revista CEA - Year 2021, Vol 7, Issue 15

Abstract

The Fourth Industrial Revolution has started to develop and bring along new information and communications technologies, as well as novel forms of complex relationships between processes and organizations. This revolution is part of processes that further expand the scope and differentiate the division of labor, which was originally conceived in previous revolutions. This editorial briefly addresses the relationship between the industrial revolutions and economic and management sciences, as well as important transformations in the development of the Western civilization within liberal capitalism. It also refers to aspects of these changes and speculates about the consequences of the recent Industry 4.0.
