Collaboration between Business and Academia – Network Perspective

Journal Title: Zeszyty Naukowe Wyższej Szkoły Bankowej w Poznaniu - Year 2015, Vol 64, Issue 7

Abstract

The ability to create innovation goes beyond the resources of organizations, it is embedded and depends on informal networks. Universities transfer technology into business and thus are crucial for the innovativeness of developed economies. Employing graduates from a specific university in a company creates a link between these organizations. We expect that it raises the probability of direct cooperation and knowledge transfer, getting access to networks and mutual reputation benefits. The strategic management consulting industry creates and transfers knowledge to other sectors. We have analyzed potential cooperation among universities and strategic management consulting firms applying the SNA techniques. The research is based on data from GoldenLine.
