Combination of improved acquisition system, processing, velocity model and migration for seismic imaging in areas of intense salt tectonics
Journal Title: Геофизический журнал - Year 2017, Vol 39, Issue 2
Abstract
Various types of hydrocarbon traps associated with intensively developed salt bodies cannot be reliably delineated and then successfully explored by drilling without first obtaining adequate seismic images. This paper shows that such images can only be obtained by a synergic combination of the most advanced options for acquisition system, processing, velocity model and migration as elements of technology as a whole. Currently, such most progressive elements are wide- and full-azimuth acquisition systems, tilted transversely isotropic velocity model, reverse time migration and special processing techniques that enhance the effectiveness of this method. This is substantiated by the actual data examples demonstrated in this paper.

Comparison of near-surface layers spectral characteristics under the seismic stations «Trosnyk», «Uzhgorod», «Mezhgirya» calculated using finite element method and obtained experimentally
The purpose of this work was to calculate the theoretical transfer characteristics of the sedimentary layers under the seismic stations «Trosnyk», «Uzhgorod», «Mizhgirya» of the Carpathian seismic network using the Finit...
The tectonic condition formed of ore-structures of the Peri-Azovian megablock of the Ukrainian Shield (at the examples fo Dibrovska)
According to previous studies, the structural pattern of the eastern part of the Ukrainian shield, which was formed during several stages of essentially landslide transformations of crystalline base¬ment, corresponds to...
A map of absolute values for gravity fields of Ukraine and some aspects of its possible interpretation
An electronic map of absolute values of gravity field (Gн) has been plotted for the territory of Ukraine for the first time with application of combined electronic matrices of Buge anomalies in case of the density of int...
Results of experimental electromagnetic studies of the Crimean region
Spatial-temporal pattern of distribution of geomagnetic variations and electric field on the Earth's surface was obtained as a result of modern experimental observations conducted in 2007-2013 along 9 profiles (48 points...
Deep structure of the Obolon astrobleme according to the results of spatial integral seismic-gravity modeling
Spatial seismic-gravity modeling of the deep geological structure within the Obolon depression has been done. Modeling results confirm the validity of assumption that depression has been formed as an impact structure. Fe...
