COMICS IN THE UKRAINIAN COMMUNICATION SPACE

Abstract
The purpose of the article is to review the national comic books and graphic novels market over the last year, obtaining the analysis of the communicative features of Ukrainian comic culture. A descriptive method and a historically comparative method were used for this purpose. Based on the example of the analysis of the development of the publishing market and the Internet content, the main thesis of the work about the mass audience as a cornerstone of the comic industry formation was emphasized. Successful promotional strategies of individual editions (comic book "The Will") and events (Kyiv Comic Con), the formation of fan-communicative environment indicates an increased interest in relevant thematic content. Despite the intensification of the comics market in recent years, it’s too early to speak about the formation of mass comic culture: it is implemented either in the creative practices of individual enthusiasts, or it pours into the universalized stream of entertaining-gaming communication space. Taking into account the tasks, the article represents the audience-oriented approach to the analysis of comic culture. The result of the study allows diversifying the development picture of the modern world comic book as well as actualizing the question of the correlation between the local cluster and the typological world in the practice of modern comics making.
