Community development: a vision of productivity from the ancestral approach

Abstract

The development of a population is linked to its tradition, its culture and its history. Hence, the knowledge of previous generations is vital for the harmonious progress of it. That is why the present study aimed to generate a theoretical construct on community development: a vision of productivity of the rural population from the ancestral perspective.For this purpose, a methodology was used under the interpretive postpositivist paradigm, under a qualitative approach and hermeneutical method. Using the in-depth interview and participant observation as an information gathering technique, as an instrument the generating questions and the notebook respectively. Five (5) key informants supported it. Regarding the techniques used for information processing, categorization, structuring, contrasting, triangulation, interpretation and theorizing were used.The setting was the community of LaIdea, El Parroquia El Hato, MunicipioFalcónof the Falcón State. Among the findings is that ancestral knowledge are those transmitted especially orally, starting with a pleasant conversation with family or neighbors on different topics.For reflection we rely on ancestral knowledge. Concluding that, the local development a productive community, is when the environmental, social and identity elements are combined for the benefit of the environment and the community considering the elements that characterize them
