Journal Title: Revista MVZ Cordoba - Year 2018, Vol 9, Issue 2

Abstract

In a farm located in the municipality of Montería, department of Córdoba, was evaluated the animal behavior on four ecotypes species of genus Brachiaria: B. brizantha CIAT 26110, B. brizantha CIAT 16322, B. brizantha cv Marandú y B. decumbens. Sexual seed was used for sow one hectare of each matirial, which was split in two splots for handling alterno grazing system of 24 days of ocupation of grazing and 24 days of rest. In each accesión was stimates dry matter yield and the leaf:stem ratio. In the forage of each acotypes was assessed thecrude protein content, neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (ADF), and digestibility In Situ for 48 hours. In the rain season, at 24 days regrowth, the dry matter yield was 3534 kg/ha, 3192 kg/ha, 2684 kg/ha and 1916 kg/ha, respectively for B. brizantha CIAT 25110, B. decumbens, B. brizantha CIAT 12322 and B. brizantha cv Marandú, in the same order, during the dry season, at 24 days regrowth, the yield were 1184 kg/ ha, 950 kg/ha, 710 kg/ha and 1400 kg/ha. The nutritive value of differents ecotypes was inside the range of this species according to review by Lascano and Euclides (1998). Animal liveweight gain, in a first evaluation of 168 days and stoking rate of 2 animals per hectare, was 1.255 kg/animal per day,1.07 kg/animal per day, 0.71 kg/animal per day, and 1.0 kg/animal per day, respectively for B. brizantha CIAT 16322, B. brizantha CIAT 26110, B. brizantha cv Marandú and B. decumbens. In the second evaluation, with duration of 120 days, animal liveweight was 0.51 kg/animal per day, 0.61 kg/animal per day, 0.57 kg/animal per day, and 0.7 kg/ animal per day, for B. brizantha CIAT 16322, B. brizantha CIAT 26110, B. brizantha cv Marandú, and B. decumbens, respectively, but a stoking rate of 3, 5, 2, 3 animals per hectare.
