Comparative cost analysis of waste recycling for best energy alternative
Journal Title: Journal of Biodiversity and Environmental Sciences (JBES) - Year 2013, Vol 3, Issue 8
Abstract
The main purpose of this study is to demonstrate that the conversion of solid/green waste into renewable energy is not only environmentally beneficial, but also financially rewarding. Such advantages are validated by exploring the energy potential from market waste management and conducting a benefit-cost analysis (BCA) under two scenarios. The compost and biogas potentials are estimated through a simple analysis and a best suitable option for the green market of Thailand is suggested. The study area is, Talaad Thai, the largest agriculture market of Thailand. Furthermore, a benefit-cost analysis is conducted to propose a best suitable solution for managing organic waste in the market. The overall results show that biogas is the best suitable option for the green market and is not only environmentally sustainable, but financially sound as well. The policy makers of the market should ponder low cost and profitable policies in order to manage solid waste on a sustainable basis.

Estimation of genetic diversity among Berberis spp. from Karakoram Mountain Ranges using morpho-pathological and floral characters
The present research describes genetic diversity analyses of medicinally important Berberis species (spp.) from great mountainous altitude i.e. Karakoram Mountain Ranges. High range (0-100%) of Genetic Distance estimat...
Investigation on density, cover and production changes and the effect of soil texture on these factors in sagebrush steppe rangelands of Esfahan province
In order to study the vegetation changes of Esfahan sagebrush rangelands and the role of environmental factors on these changes, four sites located in the steppe region were selected. Alavijeh and Charmshahr had a light...
Genetic diversity among different Crataegus azarolus L. populations using RAPD markers in Iran
The genus Crataegus azarolus L. is well distributed in Iran as a wild plant, with numerous, inherently variable population and genotypes. In flora of Iran this species is divides into tree independent species, while Chr...
