Journal Title: IOSR Journal of Dental and Medical Sciences (IOSR-JDMS) - Year 2018, Vol 17, Issue 12
Abstract
Hypertensive disorders in pregnancy complicate 1 in 10 pregnancies, often associated with maternal and neonatal mortality and morbidity. It accounts for nearly one fifth of all maternal deaths. The only treatment for preeclampsia is delivery, which may lead to premature death. Despite the last two decades of research into this condition, the ability of clinicians to predict gestational hypertension/preeclampsia prior to the onset of symptoms has not improved remarkably. The purpose of this study is to Compare the efficacy of urine microalbuminuria and uterine artery Doppler resistance index in prediction of gestational hypertension/preeclampsia with sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value.
