Journal Title: Medpulse International Journal of Ophthalmology - Year 2018, Vol 7, Issue 2

Abstract

Aim: To compare the outcome of primary pterigium excision with amniotic membrane and conjunctival auto graft. Outcome measure were duration of surgery, complications, postoperative discomfort and recurrence of pterigium. Result: Average operative time was 24±5.64 minutes in group one and 28.64±6.45 minutes in group 2, symptoms such as pain, photophobia, foreign body sensation, watering, chemosis were significantly less in subject treated with aminotic membrane.
