Abstract

The aim of this study was to Comparison of different rest intervals between resistance training sets on motor and physical variables and body composition in active men. The current study is an applied research with semi-experimental pre-test and post-test design was conducted with three groups with different rest intervals. Study population was all physically active male students from Physical Education and twenty four subjects was randomly selected as study sample and were randomized to three groups (n = 8) with three different rest intervals of 90, 150 and 240 seconds between exercise periods respectively. Results showed that different recovery times between strength training sets have significant effects on motor and physical variables and body composition of active men. In conclusion, if the improve of muscular strength be the main goal, when the workload is sub maximal and the muscular endurance be the goal, the best time for rest and recovery can be suggested 90 to 150 seconds.
