Comparison of Existing Dictionary Based Data Compression Methods for English and Gujarati Text
Journal Title: International Journal of Research in Computer and Communication Technology - Year 2012, Vol 1, Issue 6
Abstract
Data compression is a common requirement for most of the computerized applications. There are number of data compression algorithms, which are dedicated to compress different data formats. Even for a single data type there are number of different compression algorithms, which uses different approaches. This paper examines dictionary based data compression algorithms and compares their performance. The performance of selected methods is examined with respect to compressing the English as well as Gujarati text data.
